Jesus loves the children!
We are committed to finding ways for all children to experience the love of God. Our goal is to nurture our children in this love, that they may grow to deeply committed followers of the One who loves them most. For this reason, we offer the following:
Worship
Children learn what they live. So many children grow up segregated from the worshiping community when they are most impressionable, and then we wonder why they reject coming to worship with their families when they get older. That is why, while we make a very nice nursery available for the little ones, we fully embrace the presence of children in our worship services. Children are completely welcome and encouraged to participate in every aspect of the service.
8:15 Summer Worship by the Bay - At the Somers Point Beach, there is plenty of sand to wiggle between the fingers and toes. Weekly communion at this service also provides the children with a tactile experience of receiving God's love. This location begins Easter weekend and continues through October.
10:45 Worship at the Church - At the church, we provide rocking chairs, crayons and coloring sheets, and lots of love. There is an open area right outside of the sanctuary where parents can take their children to calm down if need be. We have a weekly children's sermon, and babies as well as older children make their way to the front for their own special moment with the pastor.
Sunday School - 9:15am in the Chapel
We use music, puppets, play dough, paints, movement, and more to make the learning experience of our children as vibrant and exciting as the good news of Jesus! Our Sunday School is mixed-aged, and so our toddlers and older children grow together. Our lessons follow the sermon themes. Everyone is invited, and all children are made to feel welcome. Parents may stay with their child if they would like or else attend the Adult Bible Study Class, led by the pastor.
